The five questions that decide everything
Reality check
- Can you open it where you live?
- Not everywhere. In Zimbabwe, no: residents cannot hold money with Wise, so there is no account and no card. Check the current supported-country list for yours.

- How do I get paid?
- Where Wise is available you get account details to receive into. From Zimbabwe you cannot: there is no account to receive into.

- Real monthly cost?
- No subscription. Where Wise works, receiving a USD wire costs $6.11 and converting starts at 0.23%. None of this applies where the service is unavailable.

- Connection performance?
- Not measured yet. There is no account to measure it with.
- Free plan?
- There is no monthly plan at all. You pay per transfer, where the service is available.

Verdict
Use Wise if you live in a supported country, or later move to one. It is a good service there.
Skip it where it is not supported; today that includes Zimbabwe. No signup trick changes the country list, and accounts opened against the rules get closed. Use Payoneer or a marketplace payout instead.
